A student will learn common writing techniques such as imagery, internal dialogue, similes and metaphors, flashback, personification, parallel structure as well as advanced techniques such as symbolism and word choice. In addition, the student will learn how to interpret a writing theme – a critical thinking skill essential to the academic success. To help the student create vivid expressions in their writings, this workshop also covers common idioms, proverbs and similes.
